FUNDAMENTALS OF INTERIOR DESIGN

This subject exposes the students to the basics of design and the fundamentals of design theory. Students will learn to understand and appreciate design by exploring and applying the various elements and principles of design including colour and colour theory.


ESSENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN MATERIALS – I

This subject helps the students to learn about the properties and usage of various basic construction materials available in the market today their application in interior spaces. Through market surveys and research students are exposed to all kind of classic and latest materials.


VISUAL PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION– I

These subject forms the foundation of an interior designer's work as it helps the designer to come up with and communicate original ideas. The subject includes basics of technical drafting, illustrative sketching and presentation of work using various medias.


EVOLUTION OF DESIGN EUROPE

The aim of the subject is to understand the progression of historical development of art, architecture, interiors in western and the design ideology of international master architects and designers belonging to various schools of thoughts.


INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND TECHNIQUES-I

This subject exposes the students to identifying the various parts of a building and their role in the overall structure. Students will learn to draft the constructional details for various parts of a building.

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN STUDIO

This design studio introduces students to the concepts of designing residential spaces. Students will learn how to conceptualize design and execute it using various techniques. Spaceplanning, defining finishes and materials for a space as well as making working and presentation drawings will be an integral part of the course.


ESSENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN MATERIALS – II

In this subject, students will discuss the materials and finishes available on the market that are used in interiors. State the properties and usage of various materials available, and select materials for a space based on the functional and aesthetic requirements.


VISUAL PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION– II

This subject exposes the students to various types of perspective drawings to express design ideas. Students will also apply various techniques of sketching and rendering for recording, studying, and communicating objects, buildings, and building components, as well as drafting the various types of drawings required for the design and execution of a work.


EVOLUTION OF DESIGN ASIA

This subject aims to explain the historical development of art, architecture, and interiors in Asia and identify the main characteristics of a historical period. Students will research the evolution of art and architecture in Asia by applying style and decorative details to contemporary design.

MULTI-USE SPACE DESIGN STUDIO

The aim of the subject is to design spaces where multiple activities are taking place. The main project for this semester includes designing a residence taking into consideration the personal and professional requirements of all family members.


FURNITURE DESIGN FOR INTERIOR SPACES – I

This subject discusses the role and importance of furniture in an interior space and design furniture according to anthropometry and ergonomic data. Students will learn to apply the hardware and various construction techniques to design furniture made from wood and wood derivatives.


INTERIOR MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES– I

This subject exposes the students to various advanced materials, their characteristics, and the various techniques of using them. Students will discuss the uses, applications, and market research of various materials and their construction techniques. Make working drawings for various types of interior construction will be an essential part of this subject.


SERVICES FOR INTERIOR SPACES– I

This subject focuses on planning a designing of a working or an office space. Students will learn the fundamentals of the various types of working environment and how to design a functional and aesthetically appealing working space.

LUXURY HOME INTERIORS STUDIO

The aim of this course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of luxury space design. It will explore the various aspects of designing high-end spaces, including space planning, lighting, materials, finishes, furniture, and decorative arts. The course will also focus on the unique challenges and considerations of designing for the luxury market, such as client expectations, budgeting, and project management.

STORYTELLING IN INTERIOR DESIGN

This course aims to introduce students of interior design to the principles of storytelling and narrative building. It will explore the role of narrative in design, and how designers can use storytelling techniques to create compelling, meaningful, and memorable interior spaces.


CONCEPTS OF EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN

The aim of this course is to teach students to use a multi-disciplinary design approach that prioritizes human-centric environments supportive of positive experiences and enhancing users' and visitors' well-being.


EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN STUDIO

Students will learn to apply the principles and concepts of experiential design to create interior spaces which provide an immersive and unique experience to people. This course will explore the use of various design elements which can be used to engage and interact with the people using the space.


MANAGING PROJECTS IN INTERIOR DESIGN

This course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage interior design projects successfully. Project management is a critical component of the interior design profession, as it requires careful planning, effective communication, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.

Students will study the importance of and gain an understanding of the various types of fibres and woven and non-woven fabrics used in interior design and their manufacturing process.

MEDIA COMMUNICATION FOR INTERIOR DESIGN-I

In this subject emergent new media design methods will be examined by the students to develop collective and personal communication skills. Students will learn to harness the power of online networks to research, curate and create


INSPIRATION AND CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

This subject will explore the catalysts of style and design throughout particular periods of design history and their influences. Students will also learn the various theories of design and their use along with various design tool and their application in the design process.


SUSTAINABLE FASHION DESIGN AND PRODUCTION

This subject aims to develop the students' knowledge, skills, and abilities to design and produce fashion products that minimize negative environmental and social impacts while meeting the needs and preferences of consumers. Project - Old Fabric Exploration

MEDIA COMMUNICATION FOR INTERIOR DESIGN-II

The course will address marketing and public relations for design firms as an extension of the designer's voice. Students will learn to build and market their personal and professional brand by using various digital modes.


INTERIOR STYLING

In this subject, students will learn to handle projects dealing with residential and hospitality environments. They will deal with stylistic and influential issues and solutions and will draw on precedents of style for inspiration to style unique interiors.

Students will learn to analyse interior lighting installations, calculate lighting levels for interiors, select appropriate light fixtures and prepare a lighting plan based on the client and site requirement.


SUSTAINABILITY AND INTERIOR DESIGN-II

This studio course is designed to acquaint students with the implementation strategies for sustainable design, through a series of lectures case studies, and projects.


STUDIO FOR EXHIBITION DESIGN-II

In this course students will learn to combine creativity, technology, and strategic planning to create immersive and impactful experiences that educate, inspire, and entertain visitors to exhibitions.
